1. Overview

Upfire LLC operates Nuj, a goal-tracking and accountability app available at nuj.bot. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Nuj:

  • Phone number: Used for account verification via SMS one-time passcodes (OTP). This is your account identifier.
  • Goal data: Goals you create, including title, description, due date, category, difficulty, and check-in history.
  • Team & challenge data:Teams you create or join, challenges you participate in, and interactions with other users.
  • Usage analytics: We use PostHog to collect anonymized usage data (feature adoption, session duration, crash reports). No personally identifiable information is sent to PostHog.
  • Device information: Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution for compatibility purposes.

  • To create and authenticate your account via SMS OTP
  • To display your goals, progress, streaks, and statistics
  • To send optional goal reminders via SMS (Pro tier only, opt-in)
  • To generate AI action plans using OpenAI's GPT-4o model
  • To process subscription payments via Stripe
  • To improve the Service through anonymized analytics

4. SMS & Phone Number Use

Your phone number is used solely for account verification via SMS one-time passcodes (OTP) and optional goal reminders for Pro tier users. We do not share, sell, or otherwise provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent information to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Message frequency varies.Users receive OTP messages during account registration, login verification, and password changes. Pro tier users who opt in may receive goal reminder messages based on their selected notification preferences (typically 1–2 messages per goal near due dates). Message and data rates may apply.

Opt-in: Users opt in to SMS messaging by providing their mobile phone number during account registration and explicitly consenting to receive SMS messages. SMS reminders can be toggled on or off in Settings.

Opt-out: You can opt out of SMS reminders at any time in Settings or by replying STOP to any message. Reply START to resubscribe. Reply HELP for help.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security (RLS) enabled. Each user's data is isolated and only accessible by the account owner. We use HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit. OTP codes are hashed and expire within 10 minutes.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data (goals, check-ins, teams, profile) is permanently deleted from our database within 30 days. Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data at any time through the app
  • Delete your account and all associated data from Settings
  • Opt out of SMS reminders via Settings or by replying STOP
  • Request data export by contacting us at hello@nuj.bot

9. Children's Privacy

Nuj is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via in-app notification. The effective date above indicates when this policy was last updated.
